Brother Chirsteos Pir, Magick in Theory and Practice — September 2025

A Greater Feast: In Memory of Frater Christeos Pir

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

On August 8, 2025, our beloved brother Christeos Pir, Bishop Tau Aryeh, peacefully completed his earthly work and celebrated his Greater Feast. May he be granted the accomplishment of his True Will.

In Thelema, we understand death not as an ending but as the crowning achievement of a life — a transformation to be celebrated rather than mourned.

Frater Christeos Pir joined our order in April 1993 and distinguished himself through dedicated service and scholarship. He was a founding member of William Blake Camp in Washington D.C., serving as Secretary and Body Master.

His service to Scarlet Woman Lodge spanned many years as our Secretary (2006-2012) and Deputy Master (2010-2012). Beyond formal office, he was an educator and mentor whose contributions through presentations, initiation training, and guidance continue to live on among those he taught.

Frater Christeos was recognized as one of our foremost scholars of the Enochian system. For over 20 years, he studied the magickal system of Dr. John Dee and Sir Edward Kelley. His “Enochian 101: An Introduction to Enochian Magick” served as a foundational text for students. As a traveling lecturer, he shared his knowledge at NOTOCON, conferences, and OTO bodies nationwide.

An accomplished academic with degrees in Religious Studies and Japanese popular culture, he was a retired professor who brought both scholarly rigor and genuine humility to all his work.

Frater Christeos died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving wife and cherished companions. His legacy lives on in the students he taught, the scholarship he produced, and his countless acts of service to our Order.

May he be granted the accomplishment of his True Will.

Love is the law, love under will.

— Fr. Ishmael

The Officers and Members of Scarlet Woman Lodge extend our deepest sympathy to Brother Christeos’s family and loved ones. His memory shall be a blessing and his work a continuing inspiration to all who follow in his footsteps on the path of Light, Life, Love, and Liberty.
