First, I would like to thank Soror Sandy for stepping into the helm of Acting Master. It is a pleasure to work with her for the love of Scarlet Woman. Sandy, thank you so much for your grit and determination to support SWL. We love you!

In other news, Austin Public Health has recommended that everyone wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Keeping our community safe is a top priority. That is why we will continue to monitor our local conditions and adjust accordingly. While we have events like a public Gnostic Mass and our annual TOTOCON event planned for in person, we are prepared for virtual events or rescheduling events as might be required. We must do all we can to continue to be safe and operate our businesses in these historic times. All of us masking indoors is that important.

Recently, we held our first indoors and in person initiation training event. This gave us a chance to review all of our initiations and equipment after our previous moves. It also gave us a chance to clean and refresh the lodge, just in time to close it up again. I miss you all with a burning heart and look forward to the days where we can gather in person again. Until then, please feel free to connect, commiserate, and convene with us weekly, online. We are determined to help keep magical places available and open to the community, so that our Great Work is not lost to the pandemic, a time where our spiritual work is most needed.

I am looking forward to the lovely colors and cooler weather that our Fall offers. It will not be long now. August brings two planets on the move that I’m excited about. Mercury will be in Virgo from August 11 – 30 and Venus will be in Libra starting August 16. The second half of August offers support for a variety of topics and projects, and can help you find stability, a nourishing rhythm and deeper integrity in your relationships.

I hope during these difficult times that we can all find those nourishing rhythms that bolster you and those you love.
