Happy Merry celebration of Light in the midst of Darkness!
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that so many cultures and religions have a mid-winter celebration that features various kinds of lights. Our winters in central Texas are usually — usually — mild compared to places farther north (I hope I haven’t just jinxed us for another Snowpocalypse) but, even so, I prefer the longer days of summer to the shorter days of winter, even though I’m not (yet) snowed in. The happy holiday lights really help to liven up the cold dark nights. I don’t really care what the religion is, and neither do most of the people putting up the lights.
This year, Scarlet Woman Lodge came to the end of an era in our old location. Going into the New Year of 2025 we expect to expand into the Light of new services — Masses, classes, meetings, rituals, celebrations — offered to our members and to the public in new locations, so expect that from us!
In conclusion, here is a cute dog:
Liber Al vel Legis, Chapter 2, verse 19: “Is a God to live in a dog? No! but the highest are of us. They shall rejoice, our chosen: who sorroweth is not of us.”
Love is the law, love under will.
