Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
The world is grappling with a pandemic of enormous scale and human impact and our hearts and devotions go out to all those who have been affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Like my family, you are likely extremely wary of the health crisis and subsequent uncertainty that continues to lead us into the summer quarter. In the continued wake of this pandemic, we maintain our focus on the health and safety of our community members. As I am, I hope each of you have found ways to find comfort and solace in these times. So far, I have explored my old love of cooking and gardening as well as the (dis)comfort of meditation and yoga. Self-care and mindfulness are some of our most powerful magical tools.
All of Scarlet Woman Lodge’s initiations and public celebrations of the Gnostic Mass are on hold since March, 2020, until further notice. The United States O.T.O. has continued its prohibition of all physical gatherings through the current time. I, personally, miss our initiation work, most of all, as I find it rich and deeply satisfying work. I hope and imagine that many folks will seek out initiation once we see our way through this pandemic, due to the profound impact on their lives. Meanwhile, we continue to hold our weekly Hermetic Practice Workshops and monthly Holy Books study online. I deeply miss our community, and all the wonderfully unique, enlightened, and amazing people within it: Like you! I ran across a photo recently of a going away party for one of our members and stared longingly at the long table of food and drink as well as the room full of happy smiling people: Like you! We cannot do what we do, without people like you. You and I are the people who create the opportunity for freedom for everyone. I am forever thankful for the blessing of freedom and often think about what freedom means during such strange times as these. — Soror Musick
