Gnostic Mass and Priestess Ordination — Saturday November 7th!!
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Scarlet Woman Oasis is hosting the Gnostic Mass on Saturday, November 7, beginning at 2:30 PM. All are welcome, including newcomers. Admission is free, and donations are gratefully accepted.
The Mass will be held at the Nature’s Treasures Event Center (1055 N IH-35, Austin, TX 78753), a separate building that shares a parking lot with the main store, so there is plenty of parking. The venue is step-free.
This will be a special occasion: we will ordain Sr. Inana as a Priestess of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica. A brief ordination ceremony will open the afternoon, followed immediately by the Mass.
A few important notes on timing: Doors close at 2:30 sharp so we can begin on time, so please arrive between 2:00 and 2:15. We aim to finish by 4:00, but the number of participants affects the length, so please plan accordingly. Casual dress is fine.
The Mass is participatory, and all who attend are asked to partake of the communion. Non-alcoholic substitutes will be available for those who do not consume wine.
Before or after the Mass, please stop by Nature’s Treasures to thank our hosts. Longtime Austinites already know it as a local institution for crystals and other esoterica.
If you’re able, please RSVP to rsvp@scarletwoman-oto.org b
Some thoughts on systems, energy, and lust of result …
There is a thermodynamically open universe in reach. Systems that energy flows into aren’t bound to the slow decay that entropy dictates for closed systems. A system open to flow, accepting energy and releasing what isn’t needed, can reorganize in and around it. Like eddies in a river, they are continuously reborn. But they must let the energy out as abundantly as it comes in, and this is not possible when we experience “lust of result.”
Lust of result is a dam: it hoards what flows in, clings to the shape it has already taken, and calls that holding “control.” But an eddy that tries to keep its water stops being an eddy. It becomes a stagnant pool.
Here is the secret of magick: Will is not a dam. It is the shape the current takes as it moves through you, alive and renewed in every instant precisely because it keeps nothing.
Stop holding the water.
Love is the law, love under will.
