From the Lodge Master
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Here we are moving into the time of Pisces, the last sign of the Zodiac and the beginning. Therein it holds a theme of letting go and the precursor for new beginnings. Perhaps, since Saturn and Pluto will change signs in a few weeks, this theme of transition and letting go will be emphasized on multiple levels. Though as the ending is but a beginning, this then is a unity in love. For me, being Pisces, this transition has already begun, on so many levels. I am heartened to be training my potential Scarlet Woman successor. Moving into my fifth year as lodge master has me thoughtful of the dedication and love I have for our lodge and Great Work. With new beginnings, I have started my ceremonial magick work anew, from the bottom up, utilizing tai chi stances as meditation. This study also has me exploring Buddhism anew. I have not smiled so much as recent while reading “Peace is Every Step” by Thich Nhat Hanh, where smiling meditation was explained. If you see me smiling, you will know I am working on being in the present moment!
There is so much to smile about! Did you know that SWL is turning 30 years old this Spring Equinox? The Spring Equinox is our Thelemic New Year and our 30th anniversary. Congratulations SWL for surviving and thriving through 30 years. May we bite the end of our tail and continue onward forever more! Come celebrate with us this year! Scarlet Woman will hold a Gnostic Mass and Feast on March 19, 2023 to commemorate our 30 years together as well as to highlight the start of the Thelemic Holy Season.
The Thelemic Holy Season starts on March 20th, when Aleister Crowley invoked Horus with the Supreme Ritual and officially founded Thelema and ringing in the Aeon of Horus. It culminates with the Three Days of the Writing of the Book of the Law, April 8th, 9th, and 10th, when Aleister Crowley received our holy book, Liber Al Vel Legis, from his Holy Guardian Angel, Aiwass. This year, Scarlet Woman Lodge will celebrate each day of the Holy season with readings and rituals as well as the Gnostic Mass, and our very first Gnosticon over the three days of writing of the Book of the Law. Each of the twenty-two days of the season is attributed to one of the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. On each of these days, it is recommended to display the corresponding Tarot Trump, and conduct a meditation or ritual as may be fitting. Below is the suggested reading and order of Trumps:
• March 19 Liber VII, “Prologue of the Unborn”
• March 20 TAV, The Universe: Liber VII, Cap. 2 (morn); Liber LXV, Cap. 1 (evening)
