Well, it’s still hot. Today we had yet another electricity conservation request from ERCOT. We are having slightly cooler 100+ days now. Some city pools will remain open longer than usual, so that is at least one bright spot. I look at people walking their dogs in this heat with amazement but not envy; fortunately for me, my cats like warm laps, not hot pavement.
But — The Autumnal Equinox is right around the corner, on Saturday, September 23rd. The day and night will be equal length, and this is considered the first day of fall. I hope it signifies the arrival of some balance that we desperately need. And rain, too, please.

This Thursday, September 7, at 7 pm, we’ll have another Thelemic Coffee Night at Epoch Coffee on Anderson Lane at the Village. This is an opportunity to just sit and socialize in a relaxing environment, get to know people, and ask any questions you might have about Scarlet Woman Lodge, the OTO, or Thelema.
The following Tuesday, September 12, at 7:30 pm, we’ll host a Tarot Class taught by Frater Jesus, who has been a Tarot practitioner for nearly 30 years. “Topics covered will include selecting a deck, care and maintenance of your deck, the proper method to shuffle, how to select and lay the cards, how to interpret the meaning correctly, and how to sharpen and refine your intuition.” Suggested donation is $15.
On Sunday, September 17, at 1 pm, Scarlet Woman Lodge will host a performance of the Gnostic Mass, and on Sunday, September 24, at 3 pm our sister local body 718 Encampment in San Antonio will also host a performance of the Gnostic Mass.
And we’ll continue our series — our Thelemic Ritual series will continue on Thursday, September 21 at 7 pm with a discussion on Hexagram Rituals, and on Saturday, September 23 at 2 pm, our Gnostic Saints series will continue with a discussion of Kamuret.
