Howdy from Scarlet Woman Lodge!

If this is your first newsletter, you may have signed up for it at Austin Witchfest 2024. So, welcome! It was great to participate in that event and see everyone there, and thanks for your interest in our Lodge!

Thelemic Coffee Night, held this month on May 14 at 6:30 pm at La Madeleine, is a good place to informally discuss or ask questions about anything pertaining to magick, Scarlet Woman Lodge, the OTO, or related subjects over a beverage and nibbles. We hold this event every month on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

If you are interested in our rituals, we’ll have two presentations of the Gnostic Mass in May. The first is on Sunday, May 12, at 1 pm, and the second is a Baptismal Mass to be held on Sunday, May 26, also at 1 pm. Note that the Gnostic Mass is a participatory ritual, but it is not hard to participate; the Deacon instructs the congregation on the proper steps and signs, there’s a missal, and mistakes are not unheard of 🙂  Communication (drinking wine or water, eating a Cake of Light) is normally expected, but during Baptismal Masses, only those baptized communicate. If this is your first time attending a Gnostic Mass, notify an officer (somebody walking around in a robe) when you arrive and you’ll get an orientation.

We are having a party! On Saturday, May 18, beginning at 6 pm, we’ll have the Fire and Sunset Soiree!

And we study stuff — on Thursday, May 23, 7 pm, we’ll have a continuation of our series on Enochian Magick — you don’t need to have attended previous sessions to attend this one — and on Saturday, May 25, at 2 pm, we’ll have our next Gnostic Saints presentation, this time focusing on Grady Louis McMurtry, who was the previous OHO (Outer Head of the Order) of OTO.
