September: From the Lodge Master

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

At SWL, we always strive to create an active community of people who have accepted the Law of Thelema and share a mutual interest in magick, mysticism, and Hermetic Science. While this is an especially difficult and challenging time for social connection, we remain determined to serve our community.

By now we are all aware of the severity of Covid-19 and probably exhausted from the anxiety of it all. We are here for you. Through all of this, we are deepening our commitment to what is most important, our community.

Of course, it is not business as usual for us, but we are doing all we can to show up. We would love to see you at our virtual Hermetic Practice Workshops on Thursday evenings, or our Holy Book study on the 4th Wednesday of the month. These community events are free, open to the public, and you are welcome regardless of membership. Stop by, let us know how you are doing, or just enjoy some friendly camaraderie.

Speaking of camaraderie, soon, the Autumn Equinox will be upon us and it is a time for nourishment, balance, and a release of those things which no longer serve us. How can we bring our own lives into balance and nourish ourselves during these difficult times? What practices feed your Great Work? Just like the Autumn leaves, I have already begun my own practice of letting go of my fears and worries and my expectations for the present.

“Remember that unbalanced force is evil; that unbalanced severity is but cruelty and oppression; but that also unbalanced mercy is but weakness which would allow and abet Evil. Act passionately; think rationally; be Thyself.” — Liber Libræ – The Book of the Balance

Love is the law, love under will.
